Thrivent Pitches in for Twins’ Faith Night at Target Field

Aug 22, 2024

Saturday’s theme focuses on faith and worship as Twins host series against St. Louis.

MINNEAPOLIS (Aug. 22, 2024) – As Thrivent throws out the ceremonial first pitch Saturday night at Target Field, fans can help direct $200,000 to various Twin Cities nonprofits via in-ballpark fan voting. The At Bat for Impact program was announced at the start of the baseball season as a partnership between Thrivent and the Minnesota Twins, highlighting a shared commitment to building community and inspiring service.

“Connecting with the community through generosity and purpose is a driving force behind our partnership with the Twins,” said Carolyn Sakstrup, chief growth and generosity officer at Thrivent. “Thrivent and our clients, along with the Twins and their fans, are making a big difference together in local communities this season. There’s nothing quite like spending a summer evening at the ball field, and Faith Night gives us a chance to share our values with fans while working together to make a continued impact.”

Thrivent President and CEO Terry Rasmussen will start Faith Night by throwing the ceremonial first pitch. After the last pitch of the night, Thrivent will be one of the sponsors for postgame activities, including a live worship music performance and testimonies from select Twins and St. Louis Cardinals players.

Throughout the game, fans can participate in the Twins x Thrivent At Bat for Impact program by voting for their favorite nonprofit on the current featured list, including Black Men Teach, Bolder Options, JP4 Foundation and Pillsbury United Communities. This is the final voting cycle of the season and contributions to each organization will range from $5,000 to $15,000, depending on the number of votes each nonprofit receives. Overall, fans will direct $200,000 across 20 pre-selected nonprofits over the course of the 2024 baseball season.
